I arrived in the capital city of Tajikistan last night

I had travelling in the back of a landcruiser along the road from Khorog to Dushanbe. Most of this route follows the Afghan border before swinging west to reach the city. The journey took 14 hours with food stops along the way. The drivers use years of skill to negotiate the rough road conditions and the long journey. Dushanbe is such a contrast from the part of the country I have been in. Today I have enjoyed a hot shower, internet connect and some treats; carrot cake!
