Dilijan

Last night, I spent one of those rare evenings

It was spent with a group of Italian NGOs and a couple of Belgium teachers who were all staying at the B&B. Along with the owners we drank Armenian wine, ate local cheese and shared stories. One of the guests had a passion for the Lebanon so for the first time, I think I started to understand something of this country - funny to be discussing the Lebanon whilst sitting in the garden of a house in Armenia!

Today, I've travelled over to Dilijan and visited more remote monastries in valleys up in the mountains. The Haghartsin monastry was hidden away in a beech forest and the Goshavank monastry lovingly restored in the village of Gosh. I am staying with Nina tonight at her B&B perched above the village - she has already started cooking a major Armenian meal for this evening, which will definately be delicious.
