Leaving Osaka

27 April 2012

The Su Zhou Hao ferry slowly moved away.

The Su Zhou Hao ferry slowly moved away from the port of Osaka in brilliant sunshine on extremely smooth waters. I was allocated a bunk in a four bed cabin with two others.

On deck we got fantastic views of the coastline from Osaka going west towards Kobe and Hiroshima. We passed underneath the two bridges linking KansaI and Honshu to Shikoku. This must be the first time I've seem bridges from the underneath!

We spent the evening watching the scenery pass by on both sides of the boat. You got a real impression of the size of Japan and the number of islands that it is made up of.

This evening we saw the most incredible sunset and still the sea was like a mill pond.
