Imlil
5 October 2022
All the other trekkers had set off up the mountain when we eventually packed and descended.
Snow had fallen in the night on some of the higher peaks.
We descended along the main tourist route; me descending steadily, Rashid running ahead like a mountain goat. We stopped for tea at the shrine for an Islamic group which forms an important pilgrim trip on this route.
Back in Imlil we stopped at Rashid's house to have some lunch in the neighbouring village of Muzik. The lunch was served in the main living space in his home and included eggs from his chickens. I felt like a very honoured guest.
I stayed another night at the Berber Family lodge and shared dinner with the newly arrived guests from the Netherlands, US and UK.
