Etosha National Park.

1 MAY 2023

Today was another amazing day spent driving through the park. We drove to the vast Etosha Pan - an immense flat saline desert that is converted into a shallow lagoon for a few days each year. For our visit it presented as an expansive space of white salty sand - an incredible sight - emptiness at scale. Here we saw distant lines of hartebeests making their way across the white chalky dust.

Todays highlights were the 45% slanted necks of the staggered giraffes, the elephants chasing each other around the small lagoon, the elephant that walked right by the jeep and to end the day, the elephant enjoying its solitary space at the lit waterhole. The photographer wearing the National Geographical jacket had a field day.
